We have completed the 2024 vintage!

The beginning of autumn marks the grape harvest season in both Spain and Portugal. October has been a busy month with the collection of minority varieties! The first impressions are very positive: adequate ripening of the fruit, good parameters of ripeness, sugar concentration and acidity that make us very optimistic about the future quality of the wines.

On the Spanish side we have reached seventeen elaborations from minority varieties distributed by appellation of origin as follows:

From the Arribes D.O., we have harvested Tijonera, Puesta en Cruz, Bruñal, Mandón, Tinto Jeromo, Gajo Arroba (which in Portugal is called Cornifesto) and Bastardillo chico. Estaladiña and Merenzao were harvested in the Bierzo DO. In the Sierra de Salamanca D.O. we have harvested Rufete Serrano Blanco and Piñonera. The Negro saurí (local denomination of the Merenzao variety) was harvested in the D.O. León, while the white variety Legiruela was harvested in the D.O. Cebreros. In the Rueda D.O., Cenicienta has been harvested and finally, in the Zamadueñas experimental estate, a new variety included in the study called Aurígera and the Puesto Mayor variety have been harvested.

In the Tras-Os-Montes region of Portugal, Bastardo Tinto, Tinto Cão, Conifesto, Tinta Gorda/Nova, Tinta Gorda/Velha, Boal, Samarrinho, Bical, Bastardo Branco/Nova and Bastardo Brando/Velha were harvested.

From now on, we will focus on the fermentation of the different varieties in the winery so that these grape varieties, which we are studying and caring for with such dedication, become unique wines capable of transporting us to the depths of the cultural richness of the border between Castile and Leon and the north of Portugal.
