Project objectives

The MINORSENS project aims to enhance minority grape varieties from the cross-border area between Castilla y León (León, Zamora, Salamanca, Ávila and Valladolid) and Northern Portugal (Trás-os-Montes) studing the unique characteristics of musts and monovarietal wines obtained from each vineyard variety.

Develop and improve research and innovation capabilities by implementing advanced technologies
Identify and select endangered grape varieties with oenological interest
Study the oenological potential of minority grape varieties
Develop new fast and sensitive methods based on electronic olfactory and taste sensing systems
Obtain a better understanding of multivariate data and the development of new analytical models
Raise awareness of the potential of endangered varieties among winegrowers, wineries, vine plant nurseries, oenologists, researchers, etc.
