Valuation and Characterization of Minority Grape Varieties Using Classical Methods and New Technologies in Cross-Border Areas

MINORSENS (0039_MINORSENS_2_E) is a project that aims to recover, enhance and characterize minority grape varieties in the cross-border region between Castilla y León and Northern Portugal. Different entities from the research and wine sectors are joining forces with this initiative to protect the genetic wealth of varieties with oenological interest and that can offer a better response to the adverse climatology that has appeared in recent years.
MINORSENS is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the Interreg VI-A Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) 2021-2027 program.
Technology plays a key role
In addition to the characterization of musts and grapes by traditional methods, electronic noses and tongues are used, which allow for advanced information to be obtained about these unknown varieties that have so much to offer to the viticulture and oenology sector.
